Rebuilding Home and Hope for Darnley Bright
When Hurricane Melissa tore through Jamaica, the Bright family home in Black River was completely destroyed. Darnley Bright — a retired welder-fitter and proud member of Union 488 — has spent his life working in Canada’s oil and gas industry, building a stable future for his family and community. Today, he’s starting over with nothing left but the will to rebuild.
Darnley’s daughter, Alizah Bright, is organizing this fundraiser to help him recover from the devastating loss of his home and belongings. The funds will go directly toward rebuilding his house and meeting essential needs such as food, clothing, and shelter materials.
Some know the Bright family home as a warm and welcoming place for visiting friends and climbers in Jamaica — a space built on generosity and shared adventure. Now, the family needs that same spirit of community in return.
Every contribution, no matter the size, helps rebuild not just a home, but a lifetime of effort, kindness, and resilience.
Please donate or share to help Darnley rebuild.
